Book Care Reminders - Please review with your student
1. Only first and second graders will be bringing books home unless a kindergarten student receives a birthday book. If your kindergartener brings home a birthday book, you will get an email from me letting you know it is coming home, and will need to be returned.
2. Ask your student about their book or books and read them together. I will be sending additional information throughout the year about how you can encourage reading at home.
3. If your student carries a water bottle in their backpack, make sure the lid is tightly closed.
4. If your student attends an after school program or rides the yellow bus, they should keep their library books in their backpack until they get home. I'm happy that they are excited to read the library books, however many books are lost this way!
5. Speak with your student about a safe place to keep the books in your house and especially if you have lots of other books. Ours always have a hard cover and a CSD or Winnona Park Elementary bar code on the back.
